30 August 2023 – Today, the students of Peduli Anak Primary School received immunization shots for measles and PCV (Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine). Both immunizations are routine programs provided by the government and are regularly administered to primary schools students in Indonesia. The students of Peduli Anak Primary School is no exception to this. During this activity, 22 children from grades 1 and 5 received immunization injections from medical workers at the local health center who came to Peduli Anak.

While awaiting their turn to receive the injections, the children listened to an explanation given by a medical officer regarding the benefits of this immunization. Not only that, this is also done to help the children overcome their fear of injections.

“This immunization activity is important to protect children from measles, pneumonia, meningitis, ear infections, and other infections caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria,” said Ms. Wayan, one of the medical workers from the local health center.

Thanks to the brief explanation of the benefits of immunization that the children had heard earlier, they became more courageous. The children rolled up their sleeves and fearlessly received their injections.
