1 Feb’17 – One of our recent high school graduates, Sapiudin, is now doing his internship at the Royal HaskoningDHV in Jakarta. Royal Haskoning is an engineering consultancy company with the main headquarter in the Netherlands. Sapiudin graduated from Vocational Senior HIgh School in 2016, majoring in engineering.

Ever since his graduation, Sapiudin has taken several internship and job training at a vehicle workshop, hospital and hotels. His main interest and dream job would be to work in engineering industry, but “I will take any opportunities that come along to add to my working experience,” said this 21 year old young man.

Sapiudin was referred to Peduli Anak because he was a bright Primary School student who wasn’t able to continue to Middle School due to poverty. During his time in Peduli Anak, he was such a role model for the other children there. He’s diligent, responsible and caring to younger kids. He was then appointed as a junior counselor where he helped our counselors to carry out the daily routines at the foundation.

We’re very thankful to Royal Haskoning who have given him this great opportunity to work and live outside the island of Lombok. For Sapiudin, it has been such a meaningful experience to live on his own and work in a big metropolitan city like Jakarta.

At the moment, Sapiudin is working in the HR Department of the company. His supervisor praised him for being a great intern who shows up on time, work hard and doesn’t waste time during office hours.

On weekends, Sapiudin just relaxed in his rented room or went out with the Founder’s family to explore the city. He is now looking for other internship/job opportunities in Jakarta where he can apply his practical engineering-related skills.
