15 June 2023 – As the semester holiday drew to a close, Peduli Anak Middle School organized a special event and extended invitations to other middle schools in the area. This event was titled the “SMP Peduli Anak Challenge.” It encompassed two competitions: a futsal tournament for boys and Fun Games for girls. A total of seven teams from four schools took part in the futsal competition, including Peduli Anak Middle School, SMPN Satap 1 Lingsar, MTS Darul Falah, and SMP Islam Darussalam Lingsar. Peduli Anak Middle School fielded two teams for this occasion. On the other hand, in the Fun Games, three teams from two schools—Peduli Anak Middle School and MTS Darul Falah—participated, with Peduli Anak Middle School entering one team.

Throughout the event, the children radiated enthusiasm as they fervently cheered for their respective teams in the futsal competition. Over the course of four days, the teams battled through round after round. As the host, our children felt a mix of nerves and excitement, especially since it marked the first time students from other schools had come to compete at Peduli Anak. Nevertheless, they handled the situation admirably. In the end, Team B Futsal from Peduli Anak Middle School emerged victorious in the futsal competition, while in the Fun Games, the Peduli Anak Middle School team secured third place.

Mr. Denny, the head of Peduli Anak Middle School, expressed his vision, stating, “Moving forward, we plan to make this an annual event. We hope to expand the participation to include middle schools from across West Lombok Regency in the next SMP Peduli Anak Challenge.”

Through this activity, the teachers at Peduli Anak Middle School and other participating middle schools aspire to instill the values of sportsmanship in the children. They also aim to foster deeper connections and friendships among the students, regardless of their respective school backgrounds. Furthermore, students and teachers from other middle schools express their hopes for the continuity of this event on an annual basis.
