Haeratun Salmiah, known as Atun, is the first child of two. She lives with her parents in a small house with a dirt floor in the village nearby Peduli Anak. Atun’s father has several different jobs and does not have a fixed income. Her mother is a trash-picker. Her parents don’t earn enough to be able to send Atun and her sister to school. Because of her family circumstances, she was referred to Peduli Anak Primary School in June 2012 and has been attending our school ever since. Atun is a good student who shows great promise.
