Creativity on Display at Car Free Day
At Peduli Anak, we believe that every child has creativity waiting to shine. That’s why we’re so proud of our children who recently took part in a special event outside the foundation—they joined the Car Free Day in Mataram to showcase and sell their handmade artworks!
It was more than just a weekend outing—it was a chance for the kids to learn about creativity, entrepreneurship, and confidence.
From Class to Community
For the past few months, the children have been busy in our Art & Craft class, making all kinds of beautiful and functional creations. On that sunny Sunday morning, their hard work finally met the public eye!
They brought along a colorful collection of items, including:
- Handmade keychains
- Table decorations
- Cute bracelets and accessories
The artworks were displayed neatly on tables and caught the attention of people enjoying their morning walk at Car Free Day. With big smiles and a little bit of courage, the children introduced their crafts and explained how they made them.

Confidence and Communication in Action
One of the most valuable parts of this activity was watching the children step out of their comfort zone. They didn’t just sit behind the table—they actively promoted their creations to passersby, engaging with strangers, answering questions, and even practicing their communication skills.
“It’s fun and challenging for me to showcase and promote what we created to many people,” shared Bintang, one of the participating children. “But I’m happy when some people show their interest and bought our artworks.”
For the kids, making a sale wasn’t just about the money—it was about the joy of seeing someone value their work.
More Than Just Selling
This simple Sunday activity brought so many lessons:
- Creativity: turning ideas into real products
- Teamwork: setting up, arranging items, and supporting each other
- Entrepreneurship: learning how to introduce a product and connect with customers
- Confidence: facing the public and being proud of their creations
We are so proud of the children who participated and thankful to the community members who stopped by, supported them, and even took home a piece of their art.

Supporting Their Growth
At Peduli Anak, we’re always looking for ways to help children grow—not just academically, but also in creativity, social skills, and life experience. Activities like this remind us that learning doesn’t always happen in a classroom. Sometimes, it happens on the street, at a stall, with a smile and a bracelet in hand.
