A Fun Art Class with Cherity Guru
Art gives children a chance to explore, imagine, and express themselves in their own way. This was at the heart of an art class held by Cherity Guru, Creative Teachers of Lombok Serving Humanity, for our children at Peduli Anak.
A total of 30 children took part in the class, learning to draw with guidance from two guest instructors brought in by Cherity.Guru. The relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere gave the children plenty of room to try different ideas and enjoy the creative process.
Learning to Draw in a Fun Way
During the art class, the two instructors shared their knowledge and guided the children through different drawing techniques. Rather than simply listening, the children were encouraged to follow along and put what they learned into practice.
Each child approached the activity in their own way. Some followed the examples closely, while others added their own ideas and details to their drawings. The variety of their work showed how differently each child can express their creativity.
A Space to Be Creative
For our children, the art class was a chance to try something outside their usual classroom activities. Drawing gave them the freedom to experiment, use their imagination, and enjoy creating something without worrying about getting everything exactly right.
It also gave them an opportunity to become more confident in expressing their ideas. Through art, children can discover that there is no single right way to be creative and that their own ideas have value.
Throughout the class, the children were enthusiastic and clearly enjoyed learning directly from the instructors. For them, the art class was not only about learning to draw, but also about trying something new and enjoying time together.
We are grateful to Cherity Guru for sharing their time, knowledge, and creativity with our children. Their visit gave the children a fun new experience and encouraged them to explore their creativity with confidence.
Opportunities like this are an important part of our children’s learning. When they are given the freedom to create and express themselves, they are not only making art, but also developing confidence and discovering new ways to share their ideas with the world.
