Exploring Broadcasting at TVRI NTB

Curiosity was clear from the very beginning as the Journalism Club children visited TVRI NTB. The visit gave them a chance to see how broadcasting works, not only on screen, but also behind the scenes.

During the visit, they joined an office tour and were introduced to different parts of the broadcasting process. From workspaces to production areas, they began to understand that every television program involves many roles working together.

Trying Roles in Broadcasting

One of the most exciting moments was when the children had the opportunity to try different roles themselves. They took turns becoming news presenters and also tried working as camera operators.

This hands-on experience gave them a better understanding of how news is delivered, from speaking in front of the camera to capturing the right shots. The atmosphere was lively and full of enthusiasm as they stepped into roles they had only seen on television before.

Understanding What Happens Behind the Scenes

The children also visited the Master Control Room, where all broadcasts are monitored and managed. This is where programs are scheduled, videos are played, and the entire broadcast is controlled to ensure everything runs smoothly.

They were also introduced to the transmission room, where the broadcast signal is sent out so that programs can be received and watched by audiences at home.

Through these explanations, the children began to understand the full journey of a news story, from information gathered by journalists in the field, to being presented in the studio, and finally broadcast to the public.

A Valuable and Eye-Opening Experience

For many of the children, this visit was a valuable experience because they could see something new up close. What once seemed simple on screen turned out to involve many steps and people working together behind it.

One of the children shared, “I didn’t realize how much work goes on behind a TV broadcast. It was really exciting to try being a presenter and see everything happening up close.”

This experience left a strong impression, especially for those who are beginning to discover new interests and imagine different possibilities for their future.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to TVRI NTB for the warm welcome and the opportunity given to the Journalism Club children. This visit provided meaningful insight into the world of broadcasting and introduced them to a range of professions within the field.

Through this experience, the children not only learned about media, but also began to imagine new paths they could explore in the future.
