Students at the junior high school of Peduli Anak recently took part in a hands-on activity exploring eco printing on canvas tote bags. This activity was designed to combine creativity, practical skills, and awareness of using natural materials in a meaningful way.

With guidance from their teachers, each class participated in the process step by step. The activity created an engaging and collaborative learning environment where students could explore new ideas while working together.

Exploring Technique and Creativity

At the beginning of the session, students were introduced to the eco printing technique, which uses leaves and other natural materials to create patterns on fabric. They selected leaves with different shapes and textures, then arranged them on their tote bags to form unique designs.

Throughout the process, students were encouraged to experiment with their ideas. They explored different compositions, paid attention to details, and began to understand how creativity and careful planning come together in creating a final piece.

Collaboration and Meaningful Outcomes

Each class worked in groups, allowing students to share ideas and support one another throughout the activity. The process encouraged teamwork, communication, and problem-solving as they worked toward completing their designs.

The final tote bags reflected the creativity of each group. Every piece was different, showing the individuality of the students and the effort they put into the process. This gave students a sense of pride and ownership in their work.

Activities like this help create meaningful learning experiences that go beyond the classroom. By combining creativity, collaboration, and the use of natural materials, students are encouraged to explore their potential while building confidence in their abilities.
