Learning Entrepreneurship Through Cooking
As part of their entrepreneurship class, Grade 8 students at Peduli Anak Junior High School took part in a cooking activity in their classroom. This time, they made dimsum and tofu siomay while learning how ingredients can be prepared and turned into ready-to-serve dishes.
The activity gave the children a chance to learn through hands-on practice, from preparing ingredients to presenting the finished dishes. Each step allowed them to try new skills and work together with their classmates.

Sharing Tasks in the Classroom
To keep things running smoothly, the children divided the tasks among themselves. Some prepared the ingredients, while others shaped the dimsum and tofu siomay, steamed the food, or prepared the dipping sauce.
Everyone had a role in the cooking process. As they worked together, they learned the importance of teamwork, sharing responsibilities, and contributing to a common goal.
From Ingredients to Finished Dishes
Once the ingredients were prepared and shaped, the dimsum and tofu siomay were steamed until cooked. The children also made the sauce and arranged the dishes before serving them.
When everything was ready, they sat down to enjoy their creations together in the classroom. Sharing the meal was a lovely way to end the activity and enjoy the results of their hard work.

Through this activity, the children learned not only how to prepare food but also about the different steps involved in creating a product, an important part of entrepreneurship. They saw how a food product takes shape, from preparing the ingredients to serving the final dish.
The experience helped them understand the importance of planning, teamwork, and perseverance. By putting their knowledge into practice, they also had the opportunity to develop skills that will support their continued learning in entrepreneurship.
