Measles and HPV Vaccines for Our Children

Measles and HPV Vaccines for Our Children

DSCF3326-1

At Peduli Anak, we do everything we can to make sure our children grow up healthy and protected—not only through daily care and good nutrition but also through preventive health actions like vaccination.

Recently, our first graders and fifth graders from Peduli Anak Primary School received important vaccines from the Community Health Care Team, who visited us directly from the Public Health Center (Puskesmas).

First Graders: Measles Vaccine

Measles is a highly contagious disease that can spread quickly among children and cause serious health problems. That’s why our first graders received the measles vaccine, which will help build strong immunity and keep them safe as they grow.

Some of the little ones were understandably nervous. A few shed tears, fearing the needle. But after the shot, many of them were surprised at how quick and simple it really was.

Fifth Graders: Cervical Cancer Vaccine

Meanwhile, the fifth graders—especially the girls—received the cervical cancer vaccine, an important step to prevent the human papillomavirus (HPV), which can lead to cervical cancer later in life. This vaccine is a vital part of early prevention and is recommended for young girls during this stage of development.

“The shot is not hurt for me,” said Laela, one of the fifth graders. “Because I realized it will be much more hurt to get sick if I don’t get the vaccine.”

Her words are a reminder of how brave and wise our children can be when they understand the importance of taking care of their health.

Why Vaccines Matter

Vaccinations are one of the most effective ways to:

  • Protect children from serious illnesses
  • Stop the spread of contagious diseases
  • Keep our community healthy
  • Reduce school absences caused by preventable sickness

By vaccinating early, we’re not just protecting one child—we’re creating a healthier environment for everyone around them.

Thank You to Our Health Heroes

We want to express our heartfelt thanks to the medical team from the Public Health Center who came to Peduli Anak and carried out the vaccination with care, professionalism, and patience. Your support makes a big difference in our children’s lives.

With every brave smile (and even a few tears), this vaccination day was another step toward a healthier future for the children of Peduli Anak.
