Learning Hydroponics with Hamzanwadi University Students
19 August 2024 – The students of Peduli Anak Primary School recently had an exciting opportunity to learn about hydroponics, a method of growing plants without soil. This valuable lesson was brought to them by a group of students from Hamzanwadi University, who visited Peduli Anak to share their knowledge and skills.
The session started with the 5th and 6th graders gathering in the school hall, where they attentively listened to the university students explain the basics of hydroponics. The children were eager to learn and showed great interest in understanding how to grow plants in a sustainable way.
After the lesson, everyone moved to our organic garden for some hands-on experience. The boys teamed up with the university students to set up the hydroponic installation, while the girls prepared the seeds to be planted. Together, they planted mustard greens in the new hydroponic system.
The excitement and enthusiasm were clear on the children’s faces as they learned how to grow their own food. This activity not only taught them important agricultural skills but also inspired them to think about sustainable practices in their daily lives.
The Headmaster of Peduli Anak Primary School, Mr. Muhammadun, shared his thoughts on the activity, saying, “This is a wonderful learning experience for our students. They not only gained practical knowledge about hydroponics but also learned the importance of teamwork and sustainability. We are grateful to the students of Hamzanwadi University for their time and effort.”
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the students of Hamzanwadi University for their generous support and for making this day a memorable learning experience for our children.
