Learning Emotional Support with Health Professionals

Children at Peduli Anak took part in a session on Psychological First Aid led by healthcare professionals from UPT Puskesmas Sigerongan. The activity gave them a chance to learn simple and practical ways to understand and respond to emotions, both their own and others’.

Held on May 19, 2026, the session created an engaging and supportive learning environment. The children were not only listening, but also actively involved in discussions that made the topic feel relevant to their everyday lives.

Understanding Emotions and How to Respond

During the session, the children were introduced to the basics of Psychological First Aid. They learned how to recognize emotions, understand situations that may cause stress, and respond in a calmer and more supportive way.

The approach was simple and easy to follow, allowing the children to connect what they learned with their own experiences.

Learning Through Discussion and Interaction

In addition to the main session, there was time for questions and open discussion. This gave the children space to share their thoughts and ask questions, helping them see that feelings can be talked about and understood.

Through these interactions, they learned that support does not always have to be something big. It can start with listening, understanding, and being present for one another.

Activities like this play an important role in supporting children’s overall development. Beyond academics, they help build emotional awareness and strengthen the ability to cope with different situations in life.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to UPT Puskesmas Sigerongan for their support and for creating this valuable learning opportunity. Collaborations like this help create a more caring, safe, and supportive environment for children.

Through experiences like this, children not only gain knowledge, but also develop a better understanding that every emotion deserves to be recognized and managed in a healthy way.
