Girls Club and Boys Club at Peduli Anak
At Peduli Anak, learning goes beyond academics. Supporting the emotional and social well-being of children is just as important in helping them grow with confidence and resilience.
With this in mind, Peduli Anak recently introduced Girls Club and Boys Club. These sessions provide a safe space where children can talk about their feelings, share experiences, and learn more about themselves in a supportive environment.
The sessions are led by three international volunteers, Robin, Linn, and Irma, together with a local volunteer, Aisha. The activities are also supported by Peduli Anak’s psychologist, Bu Zulfa, who helps guide the discussions and ensures the sessions are appropriate for the children’s emotional development.

Learning About Emotions
During the first meeting, the children explored the topic of emotions. To start the session, they watched the animated film Inside Out, which shows different emotions such as joy, sadness, anger, fear, and disgust.
After watching the film, the children were invited to identify the emotions shown by the characters. This activity helped them understand that emotions are a natural part of life and that every feeling has its place.
Sharing and Reflecting Together
After the film, the volunteers and Bu Zulfa led a relaxed discussion with the children. They were encouraged to talk about moments that make them feel happy, sad, or angry, and to share their experiences with one another.
Through these conversations, the children began to see that talking about feelings is normal and important. Listening to each other also helped them develop empathy and a better understanding of others.

Building a Supportive Environment
Girls Club and Boys Club are designed to create a supportive space where children feel safe expressing themselves. In this environment, they can share their thoughts, listen to their friends, and build positive relationships with one another.
The sessions also remind the children that their feelings matter and that there are people around them who are ready to listen and support them.
Through initiatives like Girls Club and Boys Club, Peduli Anak continues to support the emotional well-being of children alongside their academic learning. Understanding emotions is an important step in helping children grow into confident, empathetic individuals.
In the coming sessions, the program will continue to introduce new topics that help children understand themselves better, strengthen social skills, and grow together in a supportive community.
