Karate Week with Roshan Sensei
At Peduli Anak, learning goes far beyond the classroom. It’s also about building strength, discipline, and self-confidence. That’s why we were thrilled to welcome a very special guest this week: Roshan Sensei, a Karate Master from the United Kingdom, who visited us to share his passion for martial arts with the Peduli Anak family.
The special Karate sessions were held at our very own Peduli Anak Sport Center, creating an energetic and safe space where both children and adults could move, learn, and grow together.
Kicking Off with Primary School Students
On Monday morning, excitement filled the Sport Center as our primary school children gathered for their very first karate lesson. With wide eyes and curious minds, they followed Roshan Sensei’s instructions step by step—learning basic movements like how to block, how to stand firmly, and how to defend themselves when needed.
Although they were small in size, their energy was huge! Little fists punched the air with confidence, and every shout of “Hiya!” brought smiles all around.
“It’s so fun! I never thought I could learn to defend myself,” said one of the children, proudly striking a karate pose.

A Focused Afternoon with the Security Team
Later that same day, the Sport Center turned into a focused training ground for our security team. The atmosphere shifted as our team members practiced more advanced self-defense techniques under Roshan Sensei’s close guidance. Each movement was precise and purposeful, and every tip from Sensei helped refine their skills.
This training wasn’t just physical—it also gave our security team added confidence and readiness to protect and support the children at Peduli Anak.
“It’s not just about strength,” shared one of our security staff. “It’s about control and confidence—and Roshan Sensei really brought that out in us.”
A Double Session on Wednesday
On Wednesday, the learning continued with two separate sessions at the Sport Center—one for our middle school students, and another for our staff, including counselors, foster mothers, and office team members.
The middle schoolers stepped onto the mat full of energy, excited to take on the challenge. They practiced balance, focus, and technique while building self-confidence through every move.
Later in the day, the staff joined their own session. It was a joyful and empowering experience, filled with teamwork, laughter, and encouragement. Everyone—from counselors to foster mothers—showed great spirit and determination, proving that it’s never too late to learn something new.

A Message from Roshan Sensei
At the end of the sessions, Roshan Sensei shared his thoughts about the experience:
“I’ve practiced Karate for most of my life, and I’m still learning every day. Being here with the Peduli Anak family has been a truly humbling experience. The energy, the respect, the openness—it’s something I’ll never forget.”
Thank You, Roshan Sensei
These special lessons were about more than just punches and kicks. They reminded us of the values we hold dear at Peduli Anak: respect, growth, and community. We’re grateful to have shared this experience in our Sport Center—a space built not just for physical activity, but for connection and empowerment.
Thank you, Roshan Sensei, for your meaningful visit. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future!
