“Elephant Trunk” Experiment at Peduli Anak Primary School
The learning atmosphere at Peduli Anak Primary School was full of color and excitement on a bright morning. First-grade students enthusiastically took part in a simple science experiment titled “The Elephant Trunk”, held in the schoolyard and guided by their homeroom teacher, Ms. Jeta.
The activity offered a refreshing change from the usual classroom routine. The children were eager to explore and learn new things while discovering basic science concepts through hands-on experience. It was a joyful day filled with curiosity, laughter, and learning.
As an organization dedicated to improving children’s education and well-being, Peduli Anak Foundation continuously develops creative and meaningful learning methods for its students. Education at Peduli Anak focuses not only on academic achievement but also on nurturing each child’s character, curiosity, and confidence.
Through interactive and engaging learning experiences, children are encouraged to think critically, explore their creativity, and develop a love for learning. This approach reflects Peduli Anak’s ongoing commitment to provide quality education for disadvantaged children in Indonesia, particularly in Lombok.

Simple Science that Inspires
During the experiment, the children used simple materials such as recycled plastic bottles, wet tissues, liquid soap, water, rubber bands, and food coloring. Under Ms. Jeta’s supervision, they combined the materials to create long, foamy bubbles resembling an elephant’s trunk.
The addition of food coloring made the results even more fascinating. Colorful foam streamed out of the bottles, filling the air with laughter and excitement. The children were amazed to see how everyday materials could create something so fun and educational.
According to Ms. Jeta, the activity sparked great enthusiasm among the students.
“They learned through play and discovered science by experiencing it directly. Activities like this make them more confident and excited to learn new things,” she shared.

Active Learning and Environmental Awareness
Outdoor learning activities give children more freedom to move, explore, and collaborate. They learn teamwork, problem-solving, and respect for others in an enjoyable and natural setting.
In addition to introducing basic science concepts, this activity also instills environmental awareness by reusing plastic bottles for the experiment. The children learned that science, creativity, and caring for the environment can go hand in hand.
Through creative learning activities like the “Elephant Trunk” experiment, Peduli Anak Foundation continues to strengthen its mission of providing meaningful, child-centered education. Every activity is designed to nurture curiosity, confidence, and compassion — essential values for lifelong learning. By making education fun and engaging, Peduli Anak proves that learning is not only about books and classrooms, but also about joy, discovery, and character-building. These small moments of wonder help shape a brighter and more caring generation for the future.
