Wrapping Up a Joyful English Class for the Mamas

At Peduli Anak, learning never stops—not just for the children, but also for the amazing people who care for them every day: our foster mothers, lovingly called “the mamas.” Thanks to our long-time supporters, Henk and Miranda from the Netherlands, this year’s English Class for Mamas was once again a joyful and meaningful experience.

Three Months of Meaningful Learning

During their three-month visit to Peduli Anak, Henk and Miranda dedicated their time to teaching English to our foster mothers in a fun and creative way. The classes weren’t like regular lessons—they were filled with laughter, games, music, and lots of conversation.

The mamas learned basic English phrases, practiced speaking with each other, and even explored the meaning of English song lyrics. One of the favorite activities was analyzing popular songs together, learning new words while enjoying the rhythm and melodies.

“I always look forward to Henk and Miranda’s visit,” shared Ibu Titin, one of our foster mothers.  “I love learning English in a fun way, especially when we learn the songs’ lyrics.”

Why This Class Matters

At Peduli Anak, many of our children receive English lessons at school—and sometimes, they bring home English homework. Thanks to Henk and Miranda’s class, the foster mothers are now more confident helping their children with assignments.

Even more, because we regularly welcome international volunteers and visitors, knowing even a little English helps the mamas communicate better and feel more connected to our global community.

This class isn’t just about language—it’s about building confidence and creating opportunities for meaningful conversations.

A Sweet Goodbye—Until Next Time!

As Henk and Miranda prepared to return to the Netherlands, the English class ended on a high note. The final session was filled with fun games, laughter, group photos, and plenty of gifts for the mamas who had participated so actively throughout the months.

Although it was time to say goodbye, the memories made during these three months will last for a long time. The mamas are already looking forward to the next visit!

Thank You, Henk and Miranda

For many years, Henk and Miranda have been part of the Peduli Anak family. Their love and commitment shine through in everything they do—especially in how they support our mamas in learning something new each year.

Thank you, Henk and Miranda, for making English fun, approachable, and full of heart. We can’t wait to welcome you back again next year!
