Our Statement on COVID-19 Epidemic

DSCF9919-2 copy

22/3/20 – Dear friends, following the West Nusa Tenggara Governor’s recommendation, we are temporarily closed to visitors and volunteers until further notice. Our children and staff’s health and safety remain our top priority and we ensure you that we’ve taken preventive measures during this difficult time.

Now, our children study at home and so do our students from outside, while our primary and middle schools are temporarily closed. All children’s activities outside Peduli Anak are canceled as we don’t allow children to go beyond our walls.

Unfortunately, we’re unable to do the “work from home” scheme due to the nature of our work, but we try our best to minimize our exposure to the outside world and practice social distancing. Sadly, this also means we must postpone our outreach activities and not accepting new children or students.

Every incoming staff and necessary personnel must go through screening and mandatory hand washing at the first gate before they are allowed to enter the second gate. Staff with flu-like symptoms is urged to stay at home.

In the meantime, we do our best to maintain a sense of normalcy to our children by doing our daily activities in Peduli Anak as usual. They study from 8 in the morning until noon and then take a break to rest or take a nap. We organize several activities for them in the afternoon, focusing on physical health, creativity, social skills, and health and hygiene.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your incredible support and care towards our children and Peduli Anak. It means the world to us during this troubled time.

We can only hope that this epidemic will end soon. In the meantime, please take care of each other, stay at home, and help those in need in any way you can. There are several items in our need list such as masks, antiseptics, food, drinks, and other essential items. Please contact us if you can help.

You can still support us by liking, sharing, subscribing to our posts on social media, sponsoring a child, and donating through our website www.pedulianak.org.

This epidemic is not something we can take lightly. Please also refrain from sharing information from unreliable sources in order to avoid panic and wrongful information.

Thank you.
