25/1/19 – At the end of 2018, we updated our Child Protection Policy (CPP) and Code of Conduct for Staff and Volunteers with the help of a graduate Law student and Children’s Rights specialist from Poland,  Ewa Gierszewska. The updated Peduli Anak’s CPP and Code of Conduct are written based on our own experience in Child Care and based on the standards and laws outlined by Indonesia’s Ministry of Social Affairs, UNICEF and Save the Children.

All Peduli Anak staff and volunteers must read and agree to the CPP and Code of Conduct before they start working and volunteering at Peduli Anak.

Ewa, who also had experience at the UNICEF and Amnesty International, also organized a CPP training to ensure that all staff understands the policy and address issues that may arise in their daily activities at Peduli Anak and how to handle it according to the policy and code of conduct. During the training, our staff followed it studiously and they didn’t hesitate to address their concerns.

The following month, we will ask our staff to come up with more questions regarding the policy and how it applies to their work. Ewa and the management team will discuss them and prepare for the follow-up training later this year.
