Help Wawan Recover from Osteosarcoma
“It hurts …” -Wawan (10), a child with osteosarcoma.
Wawan (10) could only sit or lie on the bed while moaning in pain. His left leg was swollen, and he had an infected wound due to osteosarcoma (bone cancer).
For eight months, his condition continued to deteriorate. Meanwhile, the family cannot afford Wawan’s treatment. So far, he has only relied on traditional medicine, but his health has not improved. His left leg was badly infected because he didn’t get proper treatment.
Now, his cancer began to spread to other organs. Treatment must be done immediately. According to the doctor, Wawan must undergo surgery (amputation) to stop cancer from spreading, followed by chemotherapy. It all costs a lot of money, while Wawan’s parents are only do odd jobs with unstable income in their village.
Friends, Wawan also wants to be able to play and learn with his friends. The conditions he is experiencing now prevent him from living like other children his age. Therefore, the Peduli Anak Foundation was moved to help him. But we also need your help.
