Karmila is better known as Ila. Her father died when she was still very young and her mother was forced to move overseas to work. Because there were no relatives to take care of Ila, Ila’s mother took her to a foster-grandmother. She promised to take care of Ila, which, unfortunately, wasn’t true.

Karmila lived with her foster grandmother for one year before the neighbors informed her mother about the bad situation. Ila’s mother returned to Lombok and brought her to the Peduli Anak foundation.
